Possum’s Pottery and Needlework

Possum (also known as Fiona, my wife from Australia) has a gift that was passed on to her through her genes. Her mother used to make very large clay pottery earns, like those depicted in the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. The method that she used for the construction is called ‘raku’, which is the process used for firing her big pottery pots.

Possum started making cups, plates, mugs, vases and other pottery items in November 2022. Her teacher, Sarah, has encouraged her to use a broad range of designs and colours in her work. Please find a ‘link’ to Sarah’s studio, called Simply Potty.

Possum’s pottery is bespoke, glazed, hard-wearing and oven and dishwasher proof.

In addition to her pottery, Possum has been recovering sofa cushions, chair cushions and carrying out other fabric projects like outdoor summer swing chairs, for example.

Her work includes taking measurements, buying the material, velcro and zips, fringes, seating foam and any other required materials.

The material and renovation process can make a real difference to the look and feel of a room or space.
